Ian Kaye

I'm a British artist and Art Educator now located in Nova Scotia, Canada.
My roots are firmly in the popular culture of the 20th Century and I use references from film, TV and music and icons from that era but also reference or juxtapose them using text. I'm a fan of "Lowbrow" artists such as Robert Williams, Coop etc. but also cross-reference these stylistically with Warhol, Twombley, Rauschenberg, Johns, Rosenquist, Lichtenstein etc.
I am multi-disciplinary in my practice with a leaning towards print making and collage.
Although my prints are usually limited to one-offs, I am able to print others as requested. Maybe different colours, multiples on different papers etc.
The answer (usually) is Yes, now let's just see how we can get it done.

I studied as a Multimedia artist at Forth Valley College in Falkirk, Scotland where I developed my graphic sensibility and also developed an interest in using the moving image and experimenting with sound.
I achieved my Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Middlesex University, London UK.
I have taught at several levels of education including Animation as a Lecturer at the City Of Westminster College, London U.K.
Currently I am a High School Educator in Visual Arts at grades 10 to 12 where I also teach International Baccalaureate Visual Art grades 11 to 12.
