Jill Sutherland

I am a multimedia artist and portrait photographer with a deep passion for human connection. Through art, I explore themes of light and shadow, archetypes, eroticism, addiction, and the longing for inner truth. I believe that the more personal the art, the more universal its message.

I have a background of 16 years in industrial metalworking, which for me was an energy-rich, transformative environment that became a path for healing. The loss of my mother led me to embrace feminine energy in my art, and inspired a deep search for balance between dualities: masculine and feminine, connection and detachment, structure and fluidity.

My creative pursuits continue to evolve, incorporating experimental mixed media, photography, collage, and found objects to challenge conventional boundaries.

Whether through intimate portraiture or large-scale installations, my desire is for my work to invite reflection, conversation, and connection with the beauty of the human experience.
