ABOUT
EDUCATION

Jim has always been fascinated by light and color and studied them extensively.

He received his BFA in fine art photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, where he later taught. Jim minored in printmaking, experimented with visual perception, used Ansel Adam's 'Zone System' and visited top photographers. He completed a 10 day intensive workshop with Minor White.

Jim helped invent 'Light Shows' during the Height Ashbury scene in San Francisco and later invented laser and other light effects. Pioneering in computing, he built his first computer in 1976, based on the same design Bill Gates used for his first a few months earlier. Jim is now a 3D modeling digital artist, master of Adobe Photoshop, photographer and writer.
