I am artist from northeast Los Angeles. and a graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, where I earned my BFA.
Painting has given me the opportunity to continually explore visual questions that are open-ended, ambiguous, and filled with mystery. Through the use of contrasting color, layered media, and expressive mark-making, I investigate themes of conflict and harmony, memory and interconnectedness, and the tension that exists between order and chaos.
Many of my paintings explore the relationship between mass and space, density and openness, structure and spontaneity. I am drawn to compositions that invite multiple interpretations rather than offering a single narrative.
The emotional atmosphere of my work shifts between melancholy, anxiety, joy, wonder, and isolation. My hope is that each painting encourages viewers to pause, reflect, and discover their own personal meaning within the image.
