Jody Nelson

Jody Nelson is a mixed media painter whose expressive figurative and seascape work has been featured in juried group and solo exhibitions and an art publication, with collectors across the United States and Canada.
Based in Palm Desert, California, Nelson works in richly layered surfaces that combine acrylic, paper, and texture to build paintings with depth and emotional warmth. Her palette — dusty teals, corals, ochres, and soft pinks — draws from a mid-century sensibility and a lifelong affinity for the coast. Her figurative work centers women in quiet, unhurried moments; her seascapes and cloudscapes capture the stillness just before or just after something shifts.
