Jo Fairbrother

Hi, my name is Jo Fairbrother and I am from Bradford, England. I'm 23 years old and I love to travel the world, photographing and then painting the fabulous cities we populate.

I would describe my art work as expressionist. I am a painter who is fascinated by cities and the colourful life and energy in them, they have iconic personalities that individualise them and make them recognisable.
I travel to great cities across the World and collect the spirit of the place, experience the mood and the ambience
and record it.
I capture the data in my mind and in my camera, all of my inspiration is collected in situ and is then exposed to my personality when I begin to paint. I use acrylics and build a painting with the information I have gathered and transfer to it the feelings and memories of that time.
The finished work is a personal perspective of a captured moment in time, a time in my life stretched over a time in the life of the city.
