I was born in 1954 and was brought up in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Since graduating I have lived and worked in London.
I am currently most visible in photography. I also work as a painter (in oils, acrylic and so on); I draw, and work in mixed media and collage. I also dabble in literature, such as poetry and short stories. I like to mix image and text. My themes and approaches are boundless, because I work to the principle of ‘continuous inspiration’ and pursuing what makes itself apparent. My work can be found represented on my website johndavidart.net and in the Photos albums and Notes featured in my John Sherwood Facebook account. I am currently selling my photographs, and am prepared to sell giclee prints (framed or otherwise) of my paintings, drawings and so on. My prices are readily affordable and I am prepared to negotiate if asked to work to commission.

Future Shows: Although I make this work primarily for myself, and have occasionally exhibited, it seems pertinent now to discover what sort of potential my work has for a relationship with the world at large. I am, therefore, in the process of seeking exhibitions and other outlets for what I am doing. I am seeking a positive dialogue with others.
Since finishing at Leeds Polytechnic in the 1970s, my education has continued through my practice.I have exhibited from time to time, but being a perfectionist, have concentrated mainly upon developing the work itself. ,
