I was born in the United Kingdom, but I have spent most of my life travelling. Partly because my family travelled all over the world when I was a kid and then, when I was old enough, I travelled as well.
Home these days is split between England, Australia and the Philippines (travel restrictions allowing), but spiritually home is and always will be England.
I photographed and interviewed 40 veterans of the Second World War in ten countries - male pilots and women partisans. This work may be seen at and a YouTube Channel under the same name.
I have written first drafts of a book called Letters to My Wife about raising two children as a widower single father.
More recently I have devoted myself to painting.
I studied photography at the Cape Town School of Photography. A great place to develop skills as a photographer because of the very high quality of work produced there for the European fashion industry and of course for the amazing light.
My painting skills have been learned informally, drawing on my knowledge of light and composition and skills as a photographer.
When I left school I completed an economics degree before joining the advertising agencies JWT and Ogilvy.
