John worked as an illustrator in the advertising world for over15 years. Now retired, John is painting and drawing in earnest again, not that he ever stopped.
Whether realistic still life’s or abstract, John creates paintings to be visually engaging. He draws the viewer into the scene, giving them an experience of place or object. With his abstract art he challenges the viewer with objects and hopes that when they understand they are not real objects that they grasp the underlying metaphors.
Viewing Johns soundscapes challenges the hearing population to think about common sounds they hear, and feel the emotional response to sounds.
‘Any day that I don’t paint or draw something, feels like a wasted day.’
