Jorge Martinez

I am an artist and architect whose work explores the character, color, and structure of the world around us. With more than four decades of experience in drawing and painting, I have developed a practice rooted in close observation and a lasting fascination with urban landscapes, architecture, and the natural environment.

My work ranges from urban sketches and architectural scenes to paintings inspired by the landscapes of Baja California. Through line, form, texture, and color, I seek to capture not only the appearance of a place, but also its atmosphere and distinctive character.

Working across drawing and painting, I create original pieces that reflect a personal response to the environments we inhabit. Whether depicting a city street or the rugged beauty of the desert, my aim is to find the essential elements that give each place its identity.

My work brings together architectural sensibility and artistic observation, offering collectors an individual perspective on the built environment and the landscapes of northern Mexico.

Degree in Architecture, complemented by extensive study in visual arts, including art history, figure drawing, color theory and techniques, graphic arts, and visual communication. My multidisciplinary education has informed my approach to composition, spatial relationships, visual structure, and the expressive possibilities of drawing and painting.
