José Luis Ferragut was born in Valencia in 1969, although very soon he moved to Madrid. He works as a commercial director and artist.
After studying Communication Design at the prestigious Parsons School of Design of New York, he started his career in Paris as an Art Director. He returned to Spain later on and worked as Creative for more than a decade in different advertising agencies before making the transition into directing.
He has received numerous awards and distinctions over the years, including best director at APCP and more recently, a Bronze Lion at Cannes Festival.
Painting has accompanied him throughout his whole creative career. The language in his works combines a symbolic narrative full of pop culture references, with a very refined pictorial technique. With his paintings, Ferragut always plays with perceptions that go beyond the artwork to become sensation and emotion, inviting the viewer to join a dialogue that will not leave him indifferent.
His last solo exhibition "Linking Words" took place in The Cultural Center Anabel Segura in Madrid during September and October 2018.
