Youri Ivanov

Background:

– Master's degree in graphic arts from the State Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria – 5-year education (1982–1987). The education is approved by NOKUT as equivalent to a Norwegian master's degree.

– Artist education from the State School of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria – 5-year education (1975–1980).

Youri taught at the Art School in Frei municipality in the period 2001–2002.

He has also given a number of private courses and lectures over the years.

Art
With a classical academic education in visual arts, Youri has had the opportunity to experiment with both traditional and modern forms of expression. He is creative and curious, masters a number of techniques, and often uses color as a central tool in his characteristic expression. His graphic works are known for balanced composition and visual harmony.

Youri's work is distinguished by its richness of detail and dynamism. He is also an accomplished painter and portrait artist, often expressing himself through sketches with expressive body movements. His art thematically ranges from beautiful landscapes and cityscapes to abstract interpretations of complex emotions and relationships.
