Jo White is an emerging artist within the Australian contemporary arts scene.
Much of Jo's work is inspired by her life in rural Australia where she grew up on sheep and broad acre farming properties.
Jo is currently exploring the world of portraiture and human form and has developed a unique style in her depictions of life on the farm. Many of these paintings explore the narrative of childhood and our relationship with the camera from an early age.
Her art is inspired by their innocence, the amateurism of a photographer and subject who are too engaged with the moment to dwell on composition and light or be conscious of how they are posed.
These frozen moments form a series of select snapshots of our lives. They showcase the highlights and best moments of our lives. Never mind whatever happened in between those frozen moments, the times we took forward from the past has been arranged for us and by us and will be remembered by this medley.
