Marcel Rene

I am a self-taught abstract painter from Russia, living and working in Spain. My work is rooted in a deep love for nature and life, and moves between two languages: calming abstract landscapes and vibrant, colorful compositions.
At the heart of my practice is a fascination with inner contrast. There are moments when I crave silence, stillness, and deep reflection - this quiet finds its way into my serene, atmospheric landscapes. In other moments, I am emotional, spontaneous, and full of energy, and this is what brings my bold, colorful abstracts to life. I am drawn to people and moments where seemingly opposite qualities coexist, because I believe this complexity is what makes us feel truly alive. In this sense, my art is ultimately about life itself — about human nature in all its diversity and fullness.
I paint intuitively, without a fixed plan, allowing color, rhythm, and composition to guide me. This process is my path to inner freedom and self-discovery, a continuous search for new ways of expression. It brings me a very particular kind of joy - one I hope also reaches the viewer.

Self-taught painter, inspired by great and recognized artists like Henry Matisse, Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock and lots of contemporary artists such as: Norio Monma, Kirsten Jackson, Susannah Bleasby, and many others.
