Juliana Dias

I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Photography has always permeated my life through my father's habit of recording family moments.

The aptitude and affinity for creating images and drawings also emerged in childhood, as well as the practicality of communicating through writing.
So I ended up choosing Public Relations as my graduation course.

In 2012 I bought my first semi-professional camera and started recording people in their daily lives.
I took to the streets and found that I was interested in people, their faces, gestures and, as a tribute to who they are, I photographed them.
I found out that in those instant frames I could understand a fraction of who they are, but never fully revealed them. Because that's how I like to see myself as a person: never defined by just one thing, just one moment.

In 2014 I became a mother and had to take a break from work, returning in 2015/2016 as a family photographer. I did family photo shoots and have continued to photograph the streets ever since.

2014 - 2018: Public Relations - Universidade do Estado da Bahia.

Since always: Self-taught photographer.
