Julia Skrypnyk

I am a figurative painter working primarily with oil. My practice explores human psychology, emotional connections, and the sense of unity that binds individuals within a collective existence. The experience of war profoundly shaped my perception of humanity — witnessing how people support, love, and sacrifice for one another revealed the depth of human nobility and resilience.

Technically, I am fascinated by color relationships. Vibrant hues and subtle tonal variations allow me to capture sensations beyond the visible world — to create images that exist only in a dreamlike realm. I often work in multiple layers, building complexity and nuance over time, so that each painting becomes a living organism, infused with emotion and memory.
