Julia Slonecka

Born in 1990.

Master's Degree at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in Poland, Faculty of Painting.

My need to paint stems from my need to question everything. Painting allows me to tame all my doubts and the absurdities which surround me; and allowing me to condense them into a form that is simplified and digestible.
All the objects, silhouettes and phantasmagoria that I present are all themes which we observe in our daily lives, and which seemed to me to have some symbolic potential.
I explore the limits of their transformations in paint while using the most economical means possible; I remain a supporter of simplicity of form while radicalising the content I create.
