Julie Baugh-Jenkins earned her BA with Honours in Fine Art from Hereford College of Arts and a Postgraduate from Falmouth University. Her work has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Arts 2026, exhibited at Wales Contemporary and various other galleries, and has been featured in publications such as World of Interiors and Creates Magazine.
Her artistic practice embodies a lifelong journey of retracing ancestral footsteps. Rooted firmly in the rugged industrial landscape, her work draws on six generations of her family’s connection to this remarkable landscape. She explores the profound relationship between human emotion, memory, and place through her art. Using oil paint as her primary medium, she immerses herself in the dramatic and evocative landscapes that define her surroundings. Her paintings, characterised by an intimate scale, reflect both the topography of the land and the intricacies of human experience. This approach allows her to powerfully convey the deep bond between people, place and the natural world.
