Kailas is an Abstract Expressionist whose paintings merge intuition with emotion. Born in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India, and shaped by its charm, Kailas draws his deepest inspiration from surrounding nature, rural life, and the quiet poetry of everyday human gestures. His works often explore the grace, strength, and dignity of women, capturing abstracted female forms and expressive body language through a contemporary, sensitive lens.

Working primarily with oil, acrylic, and charcoal, he builds layered compositions where colour, rhythm, and texture blend into a visual language shaped by memory, movement, and lived experience.

He holds his formal art education from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, a foundation that strengthened his understanding of structure, form, and expressive gesture. His works have been exhibited at Artist Centre, Mumbai (2019), the Canton Museum group show, the Bombay Art Society, and the ‘Kalankur’ exhibition.

Currently living and working in Maharashtra, Kailas continues to evolve his art style, bridging the essence of Konkan landscapes, the spirit of the human form, and the timeless energy of abstract expressionism.
