Karnish is an established contemporary artist whose vibrant abstract paintings explore the emotional, spiritual and symbolic relationship between humanity and nature.
Inspired by the extraordinary landscapes, biodiversity and cultural richness of Africa, her works combine expressive mark-making, rich textures and luminous colour to create immersive visual experiences that invite contemplation and personal reflection.
Living at the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains in South Africa, she has developed a deeply intuitive artistic language rooted in observation, solitude and a profound connection with the natural world. Through layers of paint, mixed media and gestural expression, each artwork becomes a unique narrative of transformation, resilience and beauty.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia and Africa.
For Karnish, art is both a lifelong journey and a way of creating meaningful connections through colour, emotion and imagination.
Karnish is an established self-taught contemporary artist, based at the foothills of the Magalies Mountain Range in South Africa.
Following years of independent study, mentorship, accepting invitations for art residencies and dedicated studio practice, she developed a distinct visual language. Her style is truly unique, filled with freedom, unrestrained colour and an original expression of paintings that portray abundance, liberation and beauty.
Her work has been featured in shows, galleries, and multiple online collections. It continues to evolve through daily practice, exploration and expression from her light-filled, large and most beautiful studio in Pretoria.
