Karn Karnjanamai

The style of his artwork is to focus on portraits in combination with abstract brushstroke techniques. He calls this his fashion illustration style, and it has evolved naturally from his own aesthetic preferences and longstanding love of fashion. He likes looking at faces in fashion photography, especially images with creative light-and-shadow contrasts. He is obsessed over the atmosphere of the images, the mood and the contours of the models’ faces, whether male or female. Karn is very particular about face structures and his process of creating artworks is always asking himself what is the picture that I want to draw and after finishing this process he will illustrate in his very own style with using his signature line and colour. He is influenced by abstract and expressionist art and he wants his picture to be exactly on his ‚story line'.

He has been exposed to art and painting since his childhood because his father is an artist. When he graduated in high school, he decided to study bachelor's degree at Silpakorn University in Faculty of Decorative Arts majoring in Interior Design. However, while he studied in university, he realized that he had a passion for fashion design. Thus, after graduation from Silpakorn University, he enroled in the fashion course at Bunka Fashion Academy Thailand, an affiliate of one of the best fashion schools in the world based in Japan where eventually he was awarded a scholarship to study at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo for 3 years.
