Over the years I have developed an increasingly expressive approach to both my painting and glass work and I feel there is a symbiotic relationship between them that continues to strengthen and influence the mark making within each discipline.
My inspiration comes from many areas, especially Historic Architecture and Archaeology. Recent work is based on the Architecture from Edinburgh, a rich source I find constantly challenging, I try to emulate the way the light surrounds a building, creating compositions that focus on the overall shapes of the architecture and yet contain subtle details, obscured and faded
