Nature is my big inspiration.
The way seasons change colors and textures of plants, waters and surfaces is magical.
I love to collect plants and found objects from outside to paste them into my artwork. Working with metal and chemical liquids for bronze, copper and iron is fascinating in the way that they change surfaces in an unpredictable way. I love to play with these surprising moments in my pieces. This is why I use also wax, glues or enamel varnishes to create contrasts between matte and glossy parts in my artwork.
About my artwork on acrylic glass:
Hiking on Iceland in rainy weather to shoot good fotos, my camera couldn’t focus because of the raindrops on my lense – and the photos became very experimental…
There I got the idea for my paintings – to picture Iceland as if seen through a wet or icy window.
I started to experiment with acrylic glass, adhesives, inks, salt, varnish and natural materials like feathers, stones, wool, horse hair. The position of light is very important for these pieces since they look totally different lightened from the back or from the front. They are perfect to hang in front of a window.
