Kat Palmer

While my painting is typically representational – some pieces move into abstraction. I usually pursue a particular theme for several years running or until the question/investigation has run its course. Currently I'm focused on dogs and fish.

My background in sculpture informs the way I think about constructing or building a painting- placing figures together in postures of my choosing.

I seek the sweet spot where there is tension, humour and maybe a touch of fear present in the work.
