Kate Pritchard

kate Pritchard was born in London and now lives in Herefordshire on the border with Wales. She studied Spanish at Barcelona University, did a BA in ‘History, Social & Economic History’ at Birmingham University, then completed foundation and BA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2006.
She has worked solo and with artist led groups in London and France, and collaborated with an art forger to explore the concept of authenticity. She works in several mediums according to the concept, but primarily in print, oil and ceramic.

She studied at University of Barcelona, Spain, 1987-1988; Birmingham University 1988-1991; London College of Fashion, 1999-2000; and Chelsea College of Art & Design, 2002-2006.

Group shows include Derwent Drawing Prize, Mall Galleries, London W1, 2013; SLWA, Bankside Gallery, London, 2012 & 2010; Lucy Bainbridge Studio, 2011; ‘Tate the Biscuit’, ‘Art of Noise’ & ‘Hidden Gems’ with East End Prints, London 2010. She worked with the collective ‘Da!’ in uninhabited residencies in central London, 2008, and showed at ‘Flux’ at the Pepperton Gallery, in 2008. She also exhibited and helped organize ‘Signals 4 & 5’ an artist led/curated week-long festival of exhibitions, talks, installations and music events, in Crystal Palace, 2006 & 2007. Solo show ‘Beyond our Control’, Hither Green, 2010, and made a site specific installation for Babur Restaurant, 2010.
