Kelly Pittman

Hello! I’m Kelly Pittman and I’m grateful you are taking the time to learn more about who I am. I’m from Salem, VA, a small town in the Shenandoah Valley surrounded by the beautiful Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains on all sides. I currently reside in Wake Forest a suburb of Raleigh, NC.

Art has always been something that my soul needs to be well, even as a small child. I find peace, joy and solace when creating, and I love that I was created with the ability to look at the world and see most things artistically; from people to insects, I see the beauty in all of it. This way of seeing can make me a bit of a romantic at times, but it is a gift. I am a master naturalist and my creative muscles are exercised when nature journaling, pinning insects, or taking a close-up photo of something I find in nature. I have a large collection of nature treasures from gems and shells, to fossils and insects that I pull inspiration from often.

I enjoy working with pencil and watercolor for my nature journal pages, and acrylic paints, along with chalk and oil pastels for my paintings.
