Igor Khersonskyy was born on 16 February 1987 in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine. He is a self-taught painter who gradually developed his own artistic style throughout his career. Khersonskyi has lived and worked in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Vienna (Austria), and Kyiv, where he currently resides.
Khersonskyy’s art focuses on painting, where he explores themes of inner states, narratives, and everyday life. His work is noted for its use of symbolism and attention to spatial aspects of representation.
One of his paintings, “The Tightrope Walker,” was featured on a Ukrainian postage stamp issued as part of Ukrposhta’s “Contemporary Ukrainian Art” series.
Another of his works was used as the cover art for the French edition of the novel The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, a Pulitzer Prize–winning book recognized by The New York Times as a bestseller.
Khersonskyy's paintings are held in private collections in Ukraine, Germany, France, Poland, the Netherlands, and the United States.
