"A Burmese woman who discovered her passion for painting and writing in South Carolina."
Hello, Mingala-par,
I am originally from Myanmar (Burma)—a land of breathtaking landscapes and resilient people, shaped by both natural beauty and human struggle.
As a child growing up under a socialist regime, nature and human connection were among the few true sources of joy. I found delight in the vibrant colors of the world around me—from outdoor play and wild greenery to Burmese fabric designs and the patterns of imported dresses gifted by my parents. Despite my personal dreams of studying Burmese language, culture, and art, I honored my family’s wishes and completed a medical degree. After my father’s passing, I channeled my passion into public health, working with NGOs and UN agencies.
A Fulbright scholarship brought me to the U.S., where I began a quiet rediscovery of self—surrounded by the natural and urban beauty of Massachusetts and South Carolina.
