Ivana Gagic Kicinbaci

Ivana Gagic Kicinbaci is a contemporary artist whose practice unfolds through restrained abstraction, where movement, stillness, and layered form articulate an inner landscape.

Her works operate as sites of quiet attention rather than spectacle. Compositions are intentionally reduced, allowing intensity to surface slowly and inviting prolonged, contemplative viewing. The work is grounded in an intuitive investigation of presence, threshold, and the relationship between the spiritual and the material.

Ivana holds a PhD in Art, and her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions internationally across Europe, the United States, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and South America.

Her practice is informed by a strong academic foundation while remaining open, perceptual, and experiential. The works are created to inhabit space quietly — not to dominate it, but to remain.

Ivana Gagic Kicinbaci holds a PhD in Art. Her doctoral dissertation, Drawing in Contemporary Art as a Medium for Expressing the Transcendent, examines drawing as a contemporary artistic language capable of articulating spiritual and metaphysical experience within visual culture. She earned her doctorate from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Mostar.

She completed an MFA in Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, followed by postgraduate studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana.

Alongside her artistic practice, Ivana engages in theoretical reflection on art and transcendence. Selected publications include:
