did you ever wonder how you got from who you thought you were at 25 to who you discovered you really were, 15 or 20 years later?

Mr. Miller, as I call him in a weirdly affectionate way, was a rebel, an aggressive, rough-and-tumble enfant terrible of fashion photography

his inauspicious beginnings in the honorable building trades (I've been there too, Mr. M) reflected a desire to deal with the material world. photography came later, when he realized it wasn't the concrete, the nuts and bolts, his soul aspired to, but the ethereal, the hidden dimension,

fashion was his intro to photography his bread and butter, his career. but even there, something was missing. it all seemed ephemeral, fleeting. so five years ago he began searching elsewhere.

funny, what your children's love, unconditional, can do for you, wearing their heart on their sleeve: they led Don to see his need to find out who he is, beneath the well-constructed mask.

to see himself as a work in progress, to explore his potential as an artist, connecting with other dimensions of life. of the world we move blindly through.
