I suppose I might be classified as a re-emerging, late career artist. I took a detour into multimedia thirty years ago and have brought some of those skills back into the Studio, where I am now settling into printmaking and painting once again.

In the seventies I was inspired by study of global mythology and the Western traditions including the works of Jung on alchemy and symbols. This led to decades of Eastern practices that focus on the nature of the mind and Consciousness.

In the early sixties I was a working musician with the Red Onion Jazz Band and a founding member of The Loved Ones who are regarded as one of Australia’s iconic rhythm & blues bands and were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2010.

I now play an Indian harmonium as accompaniment to Vedic mantra practices.

I had a classical training in etching and painting at the National Gallery of Victoria School of Art under John Brack and studied pure design at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. I have had several periods of continuous output since. A detailed bio can be seen on my website www.kimlynch.art

My earlier career path included Painting, drawing and printmaking in Australia, New Zealand, London, Amsterdam and India.
