Kirsty Skears

Storytelling is a reoccurring theme throughout Kirsty's practice, from recreating personal anecdotes to illustrating fantastical dreams and illusions. Kirsty's work is often linked to her own personal history, although she aims to identify with others. She uses her passion for make believe and narrative and strong influences from Victorian fairy tales to recreate scenes from her imagination. Kirsty is also fascinated with characterization and interrogates theories about identity. She analyses appearance and is interested in its effect on our perception of people.
