About Kate Marion Lapierre

The focus of my work is the use of color and texture and how those basic elements intermix to create an abstract image. The process is very energizing and spontaneous with a constant push pull of adding and subtracting the elements. Abstract painting allows me the freedom to create in the moment whatever I’m feeling or thinking about. My goal and intention is for the viewer to interact with each piece and interpret it on a personal level. At times I enjoy switching it up and painting faces in a colorful and abstract way which is the only representational imagery I paint. The work of many contemporary and modern artists continually inspires me.
