Rita Koszorús

As a visual artist, I communicate with the viewer primarily on a visual level.
As a painter, I speak the language of structures and composition.
As a person, I want to have an opinion.
As a spectator, I expect catharsis.
As a creator, I want to stop time.

Over time I take the message of art more and more responsibly and paradoxically more playfully.
Over the past years, my work has been moving towards abstraction. Abstract represents freedom from rules.
It is sincere but also speculative. I am inspired by the absurdity of everyday life. Situations and contexts that arise accidentally, or from time to time I become their director. I focus on topics such as identity,
collective identity, identity and the position of painting in art and time analysis. Currently I reflect on the period of modernism and work with a sense of nostalgia. I create overlaps between old and new, between nature and city,
between past and present. I devote myself to painting, collage, video and action art.
