Kristin Larson is a contemporary landscape artist based in Central Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and spent several years working as a designer before returning to fine art, where she found her artistic voice working in soft pastel.
Her recent work focuses on expansive skies and the changing light of the Texas landscape. Drawn to the region’s wide horizons, dramatic cloud formations, and vivid sunrises and sunsets, Larson explores the expressive possibilities of sky as both subject and atmosphere. Using the immediacy and richness of soft pastel, she builds layers of color to capture moments of light, movement, and stillness in the natural world.
Larson is especially interested in the emotional quality of the sky — the quiet calm before a storm, the warmth of evening light, or the sense of openness found in an endless horizon. Through these paintings, she seeks to create a feeling of peace, wonder, and reflection, inviting the viewer to pause and experience the beauty of the landscape in a simple but meaningful way.
Her work has been exhibited in regional shows in Texas and is held in private collections across the United States.
