Younes Laarissa (b. 1990) is an international contemporary artist and fashion designer based in the vibrant cultural heart of Marrakech. A self-taught creator, Laarissa has pioneered a distinctive visual language that centers on the architectural beauty of leather and textile collage.
His work is a modern homage to Moroccan heritage, blending traditional materials like nubuck, henna-dyed fabrics, and watercolor with sharp, geometric abstraction. Known for his "Africa Angels" series, Laarissa explores the intersection of fashion, identity, and emotional atmosphere. By utilizing high-contrast palettes and intricate textures, he captures a sense of "joy and peace" that resonates across borders.
Laarissa’s work has earned global recognition, featured on Italian national television in collaboration with Reflection for Change, and curated by Double Decker for Four Seasons collections in London, Marrakech, and Rabat. His pieces serve as a bridge between ancestral craftsmanship and the contemporary spirit of African art.
