Ed Labadie

Labadie worked as a fine artist, illustrator, and graphic designer in the USA for many years. He emigrated to New Zealand in 2001 and returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2009. He concentrates on creating original watercolors, acrylics, and oils, as well as extensive teaching. Labadie's current works celebrate a style called 'Creating from Chaos', where works begin with no preconceived ideas. Thereafter, he discovers and develops subject matter, builds contrasts and glazes colors to a glowing consumation. Works often develop as non-representational studies of pure form, motion, and spatial relationships.

Labadie is an award-winning artist and highly regarded art instructor. He has exhibited original works since 1980, from New York to New Zealand, and presently resides in the Portland, Oregon area.
