I am a self taught artist and have been painting and drawing since my childhood. After finishing college, I worked as an apprentice in a printing company and qualified myself from Watford College of Printing, London. Thereafter I worked in the printing and packaging industry, in Asia and the Middle East.
I was drawn back to art while I was studying for my MBA at Newcastle Business School, Newcastle in 2005.
I have a particular passion for painting elephants and other wildlife merely to illustrate and create the atmosphere and feel of wildlife in its natural habitat. I have sold my collection to private collectors as far as Australia and other areas of South East Asia. I work mainly with oils and acrylics.
From painting wild life I moved on to painting cityscapes, as I love to go to the West End especially at dusk and to sketch and photograph the busy streets and buildings. I did a series of paintings titled “Vibrant London”
After doing intense research, I developed my own style by creating a variety of impressions to express movement and the illusion of depth that layering of paint can produce, allowing me the freedom to express inner thoughts and emotions rather than creating a simple representation of the real ...

Cityscapes - Bustling Colombo
Contemporary artist Laknath Peiris to host exhibition at Leo Burnett



Monday 15th June 2015, Colombo: Laknath Peiris, a London-based Sri Lankan artist will be showcasing his latest collection of work at the Leo Burnett Quadrangle located at No. 379 R.A. de Mel Mawatha on 12 July 2015, from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The exhibition will be held under the theme ‘Cityscapes – Bustling Colombo’ and will feature a mix of abstract paintings that depict the diversity and vibrancy of city life.
