Dominique Beukers

Born in Brazil to a Dutch father and a Romanian mother, growing up in Mexico and studying in a French school, I have always considered myself a citizen of the world. I have lived in multiple countries, including Italy and China where I was based for 16 years. I currently live between the Netherlands and Israel. Being exposed to different cultures and backgrounds opened my eyes to various forms of beauty, which I aim to translate not only through glasswork and acrylic sculpting, but also through photography and graphic design.

Since the 1970s, I have been working as a freelance artist. I studied visual arts at the Autonomous University of Mexico ('72), and later moved to the United States where I focused on improving my glasswork techniques.  While in Mexico, I received two prestigious awards for my glass sculptures. My work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Italy, China and the Netherlands.
