Yesheng Wu

Brief introduction of Laowan:
Laowan (real name: Yesheng Wu) who is a master instructor was born in county She, Anhui Province, China that is well known by two Chinese intangible cultural heritages: Hui ink-stick and She ink stone. When he was young, he was inspired by the local painters. After working, he insisted studying from the folk artists. Artists Tao Shi, Changshuo Wu, and Tianshou Pan are all his teachers. After practicing and learning for more than 40 years, he formed his own style gradually. In the year 2005, as an outstanding talent, he was adopted by Huangshan Municipality, and settled down in Huangshan.
Due to his fantastic artistic achievement, he was interviewed by the media of Anhui Dairy in the early of eighties century. He was invited to many important art exhibitions. He successfully launched his solo art exhibitions themed as “Return Home” and “Paint Tour of Huizhou”. He published many academic papers and monographs such as , . His artwork was specially reported by social media, such as People’s Daily. He is now one of the inheritors of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Traditional Art and the chief painter of Art Salon of Huangshan Art Association.
