Óscar Morales Lasso (Bogotá, 1983) is a visual artist whose practice operates between conceptual photography and the exploration of the everyday as a space of critical tension. His work stems from observing immediate reality, abstracting elements of daily life to construct images that question contemporary social dynamics.
Through the use of sarcasm, anachronism, and allegory, his work addresses themes such as consumption, repetition, and human contradictions, generating readings that move between the symbolic and the direct. His approach proposes a reflective perspective on the ordinary, revealing layers of meaning hidden within what appears simple.
He has participated in collective exhibitions and curatorial processes focused on contemporary and experimental photography. He was selected for the exhibition Topografías del adentro y del afuera, an initiative by the EUNIC Colombia cluster במסגרת the VII International Photography Encounter in Bogotá. He has also exhibited in Lumens, a show centered on chemical and experimental photography in Bogotá.
His work is defined by an ongoing search for visual languages that challenge the viewer’s perception, inviting them to confront the everyday from a critical and poetic standpoint.
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the National Pedagogical University, a Master’s degree in Education, and a specialization in Curriculum and Pedagogy from Universidad de los Andes.
