Laura Brown

I was born in a small town 2 hours from Mexico City named Jilotepec. My family and I came to the US when I was 4 years old and have since lived in California.

I studied fashion design and about 10 years ago I discovered oil painting, and haven't looked back.

As an expressive abstract artist, I use art as a way of emotional expression. Every brushstroke and gesture on the canvas is spontaneous and liberating. My paintings have come to serve me as a personal journal, each painting holds a memory of a time in my life.

When viewers stand in front of my art, I hope they too form an emotional connection to the pieces. I hope to bring joy, peace, and inspiration to their space.
