My art weaves together the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and metaphysical. I like to zoom in and, at the same time, zoom out — the whole picture matters, yet often, it’s within the tiniest details and the many possible paths and outcomes where meaning unfolds. Playfulness is essential in discovering the right forms, shapes, and arrangements, and for embracing the endless possibilities that emerge when we let go of rigidity.

My work is inspired by life as a spiritual journey — a continuous search for meaning, self-exploration, and growth. It reflects on themes of conditioning and reconditioning, pattern recognition, and the process of navigating through the labels and roles each person inherits from society. These ideas are embedded in my creative process and surface through both form and content.

Laura Grinberga is a London-based, self-taught visual artist whose work explores mental health, trauma, resilience, and recovery. A third-generation female artist from Latvia, she was immersed in creativity from an early age. Despite this artistic foundation, she initially pursued a degree in Logistics of Business and Transportation, a background that has shaped her analytical and structured approach to artistic exploration.

Since beginning her artistic practice in 2009 in Milan, Laura has integrated social-cultural anthropology into her work, examining language, traditions, and human behavior. Her current body of work focuses on the strength and adaptability of the human mind, investigating cycles of conditioning, the impact of dysfunctional relationships, and the process of rebuilding after adversity. Her practice is deeply informed by her experiences of migration, cultural transitions, and navigating male-dominated spaces.

She creates immersive, multisensory installations using mixed media and organic materials, fostering spaces for reflection and dialogue to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage individual and collective healing.

Beyond her studio practice, Laura is a patron of Tate and the founder of WAC ...
