Lauren Wharf is a dynamic and versatile contemporary artist whose journey weaves together a vibrant tapestry of cultural influences and breathtaking landscapes. Holding a First-Class Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Art from the University of Huddersfield, Lauren’s artistic evolution spans the rugged beauty of the United Kingdom, the serene expanses of Australia & New Zealand, the vivid, sun-drenched vistas of Antigua & Barbuda and now, the tropical paradise of The Bahamas in the Caribbean.

The Focus of Production

Wharf primarily focuses on life encounters, documenting living in a world where human impact is a constant threat to our environment. Her aim is to challenge the existing social systems and boundaries by working with a range of materials, methods, concepts, and subjects.

Her interest in ecology fuels her curiosity about how contemporary society influences our position within the environment. Using her own life experiences and considering the narrative behind a place, Wharf’s projects adopt a conceptual approach, investigating the relationship between a utopian and dystopian world.
