Laurie Jiobu

I came to painting through movement. As a dancer, I learned to trust the body's instincts over the mind's plans. As a swimmer, I find that same surrender — the water asking you to stop resisting and simply flow. My paintings live in that space: the moment between intention and release, where nature and motion become one thing. I paint because something in the world keeps asking to be felt, not just seen.
