Marina's art projects are created to bring light and kindness to the depressive landscapes of countries that were damaged by the USSR-led communism regime throughout the XXth century.
Based on her own experience of living in Ukraine (a state damaged by war and ongoing economic crisis), her drawings and paintings are designed to demonstrate that love and life can be found even in the darkest of places, if one remembers to turn on the lights.
Marina derives inspiration from gentle colours and textures – to give hope to her fellow citizens who are trapped in grey realities of Ukraine – a country that went through two revolutions within ten years. Her artworks deeply explore a unique mix of Soviet ballet with urban planning in communist countries.
