Lejla Zejnić is a self-taught Bosnian artist whose work transforms everyday moments into timeless memories on canvas. She primarily works with acrylics and identifies as a realist, though lately she feels the need to move away from strict photorealism. Her goal is to soften her style—to create something more poetic, emotional, and expressive, rather than technically exact. While realism remains her foundation, she enjoys exploring and playing with other styles as well.
Her subjects range from landscapes and still life to horses and traditional Islamic calligraphy (levhas). Although she has loved drawing since childhood, she painted her first canvas in 2018. Now, at 44, she shows that creativity can bloom at any stage in life. Every painting reflects deep patience, emotion, and a connection to the subject—often based on personal photos or commissioned requests.
Her artworks have already found homes with collectors in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Living and creating in her hometown of Zenica, she balances art with family life and remains committed to sharing her heartfelt, evolving artistic voice with the world.
