Leonor Mendoza

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1965, I live and works in Brooklyn, New York. I studied sculpture at the Federico Brandt Art Institute in Caracas and had a Residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. I has found great inspiration in both natural and industrial processes. Thus, my work is an exploration of the ecological, domestic and urban in this contemporary world where I move. I has been represented at numerous exhibitions both in Venezuela and abroad, including Contemporary Art Museum Sofía Imber in Caracas, The Art Museum of the Americas in Washington DC, Miami Dade College in Florida, Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, Contemporary Art Fair in New York, L'International Sculpture Sur Niege in Quebec, Hickory Museum in North Carolina, Latin American Art Fair (Fia) in Caracas where I received a Mention of honor at the Youth Artist show with Fia, Caracas. Aside from the exhibition of my work, private collectors have commissioned me to create original works of art.
