Born in the USA and a graduate of the prestigious New York School of Visual Arts, Leslie Greene began her career as an assistant to Julian Schnabel and then Dan Christensen. Since 1983, she has exhibited regularly in Europe and the USA, in institutions and galleries including LaMaMa Galleria in New York and Freed Gallery in Oregon. In Paris, she has exhibited at Galerie Octobre, Fondation Mona Bismarck, Galerie du Genie, and for several years at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. Leslie Greene has illustrated texts by Sandra Cisneros. Her work has received rave reviews, including Glenn O'Brien in Artforum. She has taken part in numerous residencies in France, Iceland and Turkey. Her studio is currently located in Marsanne, Drôme provençale.

"Looking at Leslie Greene's paintings, one discovers a new landscape. The physical world of distance, proximity, movement and weight is the surface narrative of the material that created it. The artist explores other possibilities. They tell a story in meshes, voids, veils and densities. Something happens with these forms that are not quite apparent.
