Digital lettering created on a smartphone with a custom metal stylus by graphic designer and university professor Tomás Aversa. Visual interventions on photographic images of musical icons, developing an authorial infographic where the drawn letters emerge from biographical data, discographies, and song lyrics.
The Project LETRASOUNDS is a visual and musical investigation project. Each piece functions as an authorial infographic: a dense lettering intervention created over photographic images of iconic music figures—such as George Harrison, Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, Miles Davis,
The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Charly García, etc.
The drawn letters are not decorative; they are
constructed directly from rigorous research of their lives, discographies, historical dates, and song lyrics.
TECHNIQUES A MOBILE CANVAS
Moving away from conventional tools, the entire creative process is executed on a smartphone using a custom metal stylus. This handheld technique transforms the small screen into an intimate canvas, allowing a raw, gestural, and precise lettering stroke that intervenes in the photographic space, bridging physical craftsmanship with digital execution.
